Nursing

Our Nursing department provides 24 hours of nursing care provided by Licensed Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. A holistic approach with individualized care plans are developed in order to optimize the highest quality of care. Each resident has their of physician that consults closely with nursing personnel to coordinate all aspects of care. Certified Nursing Assistants are responsible for all "activities of daily living" such as bathing, dressing, meal set-up and all other personal care.

social services

Our Social Service department consists of highly educated, highly experienced and most importantly, highly motivated individuals who are here to assist in any way to make your stay at The Suffield House comfortable. For those who are here for short term rehabilitation; the social service staff will assist with your discharge plans

dietary

Our Dietary Department consists of experienced chefs and assistants who prepare homemade meals daily. A dietary representative meets each resident upon arrival to explain our selective menu process. Our Registered Dietitian monitors all resident's meals to ensure that any specialized diets are prepared according to a physician's order.

rehabilitation services

Our interdisciplinary team is made up of Licensed Physical, Occupational and Speech therapists. The goal of the Rehab Department is to provide each resident with a comprehensive, individualized treatment program, helping the resident to achieve the optimal level of  functionality. Rehab sessions are available seven days per week and are initiated upon a physicians order. We provide rehabilitation services that address conditions for illness and injuries that include: Orthopedic and joint replacement, Neurological conditions such as strokes, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease, Cancer related conditions and Post-Operative Cardiac Surgery.

Recreational Therapy

The Suffield House prides itself in an incredibly active recreational program. Throughout the day it is common to find the residents in the middle of a vivacious volleyball game, playing various trivia games, relaxing at a yoga class or catching up with the local news at our cafe "clutch". All of our activities are modified towards the abilities of our residents. We also have many out trips throughout the month. Whether strolling through the Big E, tasting ice cream at local creameries or taking in a movie at the theater, rest assured that our mini-bus, equipped with a wheelchair lift, has the ability to transport all those that wish to participate.
